The Alpine ibex (Capra ibex) or Common ibex - to distinguish it from other ibexes - is a common breed of goats in the Alps. A female
Capricorn is called stone fish.
An Alpine ibex has an average body length of 150 cm and a shoulder height of 90 cm. Goats are about 40 kg heavy, whereas bucks can weigh more than 100 kg. The buck has an impressive, curved horn (up to 1 m in length), while the goat has only short, barely curved horns. The bucks have a goatee. Bucks have a dark brown coat in summer; the fur of the females is more reddish or golden brown. In winter the fur of both sexes becomes greyish.
